iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management – Qualification Number: 603/5945/6
This qualification is designed for candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style, and finish a range of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon, practise business management, and acquire skills in canine emergency first aid. The course is delivered over a minimum of 30 days of practical training, with additional theory work to be completed at home.
iPET Network is proud to have developed this new qualification in the canine and feline sector. Candidates will groom at least 20 dogs, including a minimum of 10 different breeds, covering six different coat types—often more. There are no prerequisites for enrolling on this qualification, allowing candidates to join at Level 3 without first completing a lower-level (Level 2) course, which can result in significant cost savings.
Candidates will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling, and nail trimming across a variety of dog breeds.

Uniquely, candidates are continually assessed through practical demonstration and coursework. There is no formal exam required to achieve the qualification. iPET Network has designed this course to strike a strong balance between theory and hands-on experience. Feedback suggests that this approach reduces pressure for adult learners and appeals to a wide range of candidates.
The iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management demonstrates to employers and the public that candidates possess the technical skills and knowledge to professionally groom a variety of dog breeds. This formal, regulated, and nationally recognised qualification remains relevant throughout a candidate’s career. It has been specifically designed for individuals looking to become professional dog groomers, as well as for those who currently groom (as a hobby or career) but do not yet hold a recognised qualification. Our syllabus makes this qualification more rounded and robust than others on the market.
Taster Day
To ensure this is the right course for you, a taster day must be attended before registration. The cost of the taster is £145, which will be refunded if you book a course of 15 days or more with Knots+Tangles.
Fast-Track Option
A fast-track option is also available for experienced groomers who wish to gain a formal qualification or who have completed other courses but recognise the value of holding the iPET Network qualification.
Course Fees
Full Diploma – £4,600
Includes a starter kit with brushes and scissors so you can hit the ground running.
Fast Track for Groomers – £2,500
Includes canine first aid training and three days of in-house training.
Please note: A £1,000 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due three weeks before the course start date.
