Taking the "Nerves" Out of Grooming
Taking the “Nerves” Out of Grooming is a supportive, confidence-building 4–6 week course designed to help owners better understand their dogs and work with grooming professionals—not against them. This course teaches you how to become your dog’s handler-trainer, giving your dog the skills and reassurance they need to cope with grooming.
Each session is 1 hour, giving you plenty of time to practise techniques, ask questions, and build confidence.
This course can be offered in person or via Zoom, making it easy to learn in a way that suits you and your dog.

Understanding Canine Communication
Learn how to read your dog’s subtle stress signals, understand body language, and recognise trigger stacking before it becomes overwhelming.
Gentle At-Home Handling
Build your dog’s comfort with being touched in sensitive areas such as paws, ears, and tail using calm, positive techniques you can practise at home.
Introducing Grooming Equipment the Kind Way
Learn how to gradually introduce clippers, dryers, and brushes using counter-conditioning—pairing unfamiliar or scary items with high-value treats to create positive associations.
Working Together With Your Groomer
This course focuses on strengthening the partnership between you, your dog, and your professional groomer. Practising these skills at home helps make grooming appointments smoother, safer, and less stressful for everyone involved.
A Gentle Note
This course is best suited for dogs who are nervous, unsure, or need extra confidence around grooming.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to work with dogs showing aggressive behaviour. If you’re unsure whether this course is the right fit for your dog, please reach out—we’re always happy to have a friendly chat and help guide you in the right direction.
